Yu Chen
Dr. Chen is an Assistant Professor of School of Information Systems and Technology in Lucas College and Graduate School of Business at San Jose State University. She is the director of the AI for Social Good project, the lead PI of a multi-CSU-campus grant: Collaborative Research: Broadening Inclusive Participation in Artificial Intelligence Undergraduate Education for Social Good Using A Situated Learning Approach, the PI of the Swiss NSF Early Postdoc.Mobility grant. Her research focus is emerging technology education for social good among college and K-12 students. She has extensive experience in designing and evaluating technology for learning and societal benefits using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Since joining SJSU, she has supervised more than 150 undergraduate-student-led socio-technical community-based innovation projects. Undergraduate student achievements include awards at CSU Student Research Competitions, entrepreneurship competitions, an incorporated startup, and student-first-authored publications.
